Norman ‘Bob’ Meyer

Meyer, of Wolf Point, died

Monday, October 7, in

Wolf Point after a coura-

geous 5 year battle with

cancer. He was 69 years

old.

The youngest of 14 chil-

dren, Bob was born on

June 7, 1950, in Minot,

North Dakota, to Antone

(Tony) and Dorothy

Meyer. He grew up in Cir-

cle, Montana.

Bob joined the Marines

in 1969 and was honor-

ably discharged in 1971 at

Camp Lejeune, North

Carolina. Following his

military discharge as a

field radio operator, he at-

tended Brown Institute for

radio announcing. He

made a career in radio,

working in Scobey, Great

Falls, and Minot, as well

as Wolf Point.

He was an avid Min-

nesota Vikings and Twins

fan. He loved his dogs and

cats and playing pinochle

at Thanksgiving with his

family. He enjoyed

recording movies and

music for everyone. He

loved classic country

music. He loved garden-

ing, hunting, and he espe-

cially enjoyed spending

time with his children,

grandchildren, and great-

grandchildren.

Bob married Joan Talley

Gunning on November 11,

1989, in Lansford, North

Dakota, and blended their

families. Bob and Joan

could be found at all the

Circle football games, fol-

lowing his grandsons, as

long as his health would

allow.

Bob was preceded in

death by his parents, An-

tone and Dorothy Meyer;

brothers, Joseph, John,

Lee, and Jackie; and sis-

ters, Rix, Dottie, Kay, and

Sally.

He is survived by his

wife of nearly 30 years,

Joan; daughters, Teresa

Scott and her son, Kyleur,

of Las Vegas, Nevada,

Amanda (Bryan) Towne

and their children, Mary,

Danny, Emily, and

Marcus of Butte, Montana,

and son, Adam Meyer of

Billings and his sons Josh

of Circle and Jacob and

his daughter Sophia of

Sevierville, Tennessee;

son, John (Denise) Gun-

ning of Lansford, North

Dakota, and their children

Clark of Bismarck, North

Dakota, Nathan of Lans-

ford, North Dakota, and

Harlee of Fargo, North

Dakota; daughter Tamara

(Rob) Zumbaum and their

sons Cole and Bobby of

Lansford, North Dakota,

and Bryant (Kelsey)

Schlag and their girls, Lily

and Sadie, of Minot,

North Dakota; his broth-

ers, Don (Sondra), Jerry,

and Gary (Bonnie); sisters,

Rose and Patti; sister-

in-law Lillian. Many

nephews, nieces, and

cousins also survive.

The memorial service

for Bob will be Saturday,

October 12, 2019, at 2:00

p.m. at Clayton-Stevenson

Memorial Chapel in Wolf

Point and the burial will

be November 11, 2019, at

2:00 p.m. at the Riverview

Cemetery in Circle, Mon-

tana.

Following the memorial

service, there will be a

time for visiting with the

family and sharing your

memories of Bob at the

First Lutheran Church,

415 Johnson Street, Wolf

Point, Montana.
