Mabel J. Hysjulien, 91,
died October 16, 2019 at
St. Alexius Medical
Center, Bismarck. Mabel
had resided at Edgewood
Vista at the Village in
Bismarck since 2011. A
funeral service will be
held on Monday, October
21, 11:00 AM, at Parkway
Funeral Service 2330
Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held one
hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held at
1:00 PM on Monday, Oc-
tober 21 at the ND
Veteran’s Cemetery, Man-
dan.
Mabel was born the
daughter of Erick and Ella
Larson on August 10,
1928 in Colgan, ND. Fol-
lowing her education in
Colgan, she went on to
work at a relative’s farm
in Minnesota, as a tele-
phone operator in
Spokane, WA, and as a
waitress and salesperson
in the Crosby area. She re-
tired after a long and suc-
cessful career as a super-
visor of the Bookkeeping
Department at the
Farmer’s State Bank in
Crosby.
She married Morris
Hysjulien in 1958. They
had two sons, Gene and
Steven. Mabel enjoyed
spending time with her
family, camping, fishing,
golfing and bowling. She
especially loved family
gatherings during the
holidays – enjoying each
other’s company,
home-cooked meals, and
delicious baked goodies.
Mabel loved to visit with
family and friends, social-izing and playing cards,
an occasional trip to the
casino and rooting for the
Minnesota Twins.
Mabel is survived by:
her children Gene (Dian-
na) and Steve; seven
grandchildren and several
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by: her husband,
Morris; daughter-in-law
Liz; and a granddaughter.
Memorials in Mabel’s
name may be made to the
National Kidney Founda-
tion or the Juvenile
Arthritis Association.
