Henry Schiele, 99,

Minot, formerly of

Karlsruhe, ND and Velva,

passed away on Tuesday,

October 15, 2019 at the

Souris Valley Care Center

in Velva, ND.

Henry Anthony Schiele

was born on March 23,

1920, a son of Ludvig and

Katherine (Richter)

Schiele in rural Fulda,

ND. He was raised on the

family farm north of

Drake, ND and attended

country schools.

Henry was united in

marriage to Katherine

Lauinger on May 22, 1945

in Karlsruhe, ND. Togeth-er they farmed near Bal-

four, ND, where they

raised their children, Don-

na, LaVern, Kenneth and

Kathy. Katherine passed

away on November 13,

1980.

Henry was later united

in marriage to Lucille

Bendickson. They made

their home in Velva,

where Henry continued to

farm with his son Ken un-

til 1990, when he retired.

He enjoyed woodwork-

ing, bowling and playing

cards. He was active in

his community and

church. He served on

numerous boards, includ-ing the Bergen Elevator,

Odin Township,

Karlsruhe School Board,

Sts. Peter and Paul

Catholic Church, Harvey

Eagles, and St. Cecilia

Catholic Church. He was

a hard-working, honest

man with a good sense of

humor. Henry could al-

ways be counted on to as-

sist his neighbors.

Henry is survived by:

Velva; Children: Donna

Horicon, WI, Kenneth

(Kristi) Schiele, Bismarck,

Kathy Schiele, Gilbert,

ly, Dallas: 16
