Glenn Amiot, 71,
Minot, passed away Satur-
day, October 12, 2019 in a
Bismarck hospital.
Glennis Roger Amiot
was born to Harry and
Pearl (Sampson) Amiot on
February 24, 1948 in
Thief River Falls, MN. He
was raised in Grand
Forks, ND and graduated
from Crookston Agricul-
ture School.
He enlisted in the U.S.
Army and was stationed
in Germany, where he
met and married his first
wife, Helga Goll, on May
14th, 1969. Two children
were born to this union,
Glenn Robert Jr. and Jen-
nifer Lisa Amiot. They
lived in Grand Forks and
the Manvel area; they
were later divorced.
Glenn married Carol Sjol
on October 4th, 1984.
They lived in Minot with
Carol’s two girls, Jennifer
Marie and Rebecca Kay
and later moved to Van
Hook, ND. In 2018, they
moved to Minot, however
kept their place at Van
Hook.
Growing up, Glenn
loved the time he spent
on the farm with his
grandmother and Uncle
Ted. Glenn was an avid
outdoors man. He was a
fishing and hunting guide
and fur buyer. He was a
crop insurance adjuster
from the early 90’s until
his retirement in 2017.
Glenn and Carol enjoyed
traveling. Their favorite
destination was Mexico
where he enjoyed ocean
fishing. His pride and joy
were his children and
grandchildren. Glenn
loved socializing and
dancing, telling stories,
watching his grandchil-
dren in their many activi-
ties, hunting and fishing.
Glenn was very proud to
be an American and to
have served his country.
Glenn was preceded in
death by: his parents; his
stepmother, Gen; his
father-in-law and
mother-in- law, George
and Florence Wollan;
brother-in-law, Dennis
Sjol.
Glenn is survived by:
his wife, Carol; his son,
Glen Amiot, Jr.; his
daughters, Jennifer Lisa
Amiot, Jennifer (Marv)
Kranz, Becky (Chad) Gar-
mann; his grandchildren,
Sierra Sprott, Alexis Sagu-
cio, Cody Kranz, Dayton
Conner, Casey Garmann,
Brianna Garmann, Brandi
Garmann, and Bailee Gar-
mann; sisters-in-law, Gail
Sjol, Ardis (Lane) Evans,
along with his many
friends and co-workers.
Celebration of Life ser-
vice: 2:00 p.m. Saturday,
October 19, 2019 at the
Southside Church of the
Nazarene, Minot.
Fellowship Gathering:
A gathering and fellow-
ship will follow at the
Grand Hotel in the lower
level International Room
to begin at 3:30 p.m.
Visitation: Friday, Oc-
tober 18, 2019 from
5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Tho-
mas Family Funeral Home
in Minot.
