Donna Haugen, 88,
Minot and formerly of
Ryder and Roseglen died
on Tuesday, October 15,
2019 in a Minot hospital
with her loving family at
her side.
Donna Jean Hill was
born on May 28, 1931 in
Garrison, ND to Floyd and
Julia (Snippen) Hill. She
was raised on a farm in
the Roseglen area and at-
tended country school
prior to graduating from
Minot High School in
1949. As a young adult
she was employed at
Minot Paint and Glass and
as a medical secretary at
Northwest Clinic.
Donna married Donald
L. Haugen on September
16, 1951 at Bethany Luth-
eran Church in Minot.
Donna was a fulltime
wife, mother and
homemaker and was ac-
tive at the farm in a
variety of ways. They
resided at Ryder until No-
vember, 1973 when they
moved to Minot. The fol-
lowing years were alter-
nated between Ryder and
Minot with the winter
months over the last 30
years being spent in Mesa,
AZ.
Donna was a member of
Christ Lutheran Church –
Minot and St. John’s Luth-
eran Church – Ryder. She
was a member of a Ryder
area homemakers group
and especially enjoyed
golfing, bowling, card-
playing and baking.
Donna’s loving family
includes: her husband of
68 years Donald; children:
Debra (Dan) Skarsgard of
Christine ND, Jeff (Ber-
nell) Haugen of Mesa AZ,
Brad (Tami) Haugen of
Garrison and Janelle
(Dennis) Wunderlich of
Velva; grandchildren:
Heather (Jeff) Christian-
sen, Holly (Ryan) Erick-
son, Brock (Pegah) Skars-
gard, Johanna (Nathan)
Roten, Jayme (Landon)
Franklin, Ryan (Amanda)
Haugen, Tyler Haugen,
Tabitha (Mike) Wilber,
Chris Wunderlich and
Brent (Rebekah) Wunder-
lich, Kelsey, Shelby and
Allison Wunderlich; step-
grandchildren: Joshua and
Jeremy Hackney;
numerous
great-grandchildren;
brother: Eldon (Doris) Hill
of Northfield, MN and
numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Donna was preceded in
death by: her parents,
daughter-in-law: Laurie,
granddaughter Jennifer,
sister and brother-in-law:
Gail (Jim) Brisson and in-
fant sister: Sandra.
Celebration of the Life
of Donna Haugen: Satur-
day, October 19, 2019 at
10:30 a.m. in Christ Luth-
eran Church – Minot.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park – Minot.
Visitation: Friday from
2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
in Thomas Family Funeral
Home – Minot.
