Mike Klein, 53, Minot
and formerly of Langdon,
died on Wednesday, Sep-
tember 11, 2019, in a
Minot hospital from com-
plications related to an
ATV accident at Lake
Metigoshe on August 31,
2019. His loving family
was at his side.
Michael John Klein was
born on October 14, 1965,
in Langdon, ND, to Darrol
and Marlene (Anderson)
Klein. He was raised and
educated in Langdon,
baptized and confirmed at
United Lutheran Church
and received his GED in
1984. He continued his
education at AVTI College
in East Grand Forks, MN,
graduating in 1987 with a
degree in diesel mechan-
ics. Mike was once mar-
ried to Vicki Platz. They
moved to Minot in 1992.
Mike and his wife,
Shelley, have been togeth-er for the past 16 years.
He held various jobs in-
cluding, but not limited
to, Prairie Truck Equip-
ment, City of Minot and
most recently as a parts-
man and salesman at Tuff
Trucks.
Mike was an active
member of Pheasants For
the Future and was
known for his smile and
infectious laugh. He espe-
cially enjoyed hunting,
fishing, grilling on his
smoker, riding motorcy-
cle, watching football,
spending time at Lake
Metigoshe and being with
family and friends. Also,
he enjoyed camping, boat-
ing, enduro cars and col-
lecting NASCAR memora-bilia.
Mike’s loving family in-
cludes his wife, Shelley;
parents: Darrol and Mar-
lene Klein of Minot; sister:
Michelle (Terry) Heck of
Miles City MT; Shelley’s
parents: Harold and
Avonne Gessner of Bot-
tineau; sisters-in-law:
Tammy (Mike) Hall of
Newburg and Debbie Nel-
son of Minot; nieces and
nephews: Nicholas
(Tahnee) Magnus, Amber
Magnus, Bethany (Justin)
Hughes, Jameson (Libby)
Hall, Jasmine (Jake)
Tengesdal, Elizabeth Nel-
son (Zac Elgie), Jordan
Nelson and Alex Nelson;
great nieces and great
nephews: Nicholas Mag-
nus, Dennis and Harrison
Hughes and Piper Tenges-
dal and several aunts, un-
cles and cousins.
Mike was preceded in
death by his grand-
parents: Andrew and Myr-
tle (Horpestad) Klein and
John and Clara (Olson)
Anderson as well as
several aunts, uncles and
cousins.
Visitation: Monday
from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00
p.m. at Thomas Family
Funeral Home, Minot.
Funeral Service: Tues-
day, September 17, 2019
at 11:00 a.m. in Our Sa-
vior Lutheran Church –
Bottineau.
Interment will be in the
Oak Creek Cemetery – Bot-
tineau.
