Terrie Dahl

Therese “Terrie” Vic-
toria Dahl, 83, Minot, ND,
went to be with the Lord
Friday, August 16, 2019,
while residing at the Luth-
eran Home of the Good
Shepard in New Rockford,
ND.
Terrie, along with her
twin brother Thomas, was
born May 29, 1936, in
Rugby, ND, to Thomas
and Mary (Schmitt)
Schaan. Terrie attended
Sacred Heart Academy
and graduated from St.
Leo’s High School in
Minot, in 1953.
Following her high
school graduation, Terrie
worked at St. Joseph’s
Hospital and later at
Saunders Drugstore in
downtown Minot.
On July 5, 1956,
Therese was united in
marriage to Robert Dahl.
They made their home in
Minot, where they raised
their five children.
Over the years, Terrie
held various jobs. She was
a stay at home mom while
her kids were young and
also ran a daycare. Later,
she was able to pursue
her artistic talents and she
painted pictures in oil on
canvas for people in
Minot who commissioned
her. In 1991-92, she
earned an Associate of
Arts Degree from Minot
State University.
Terrie refinished furni-
ture and restored the
wood in the Veteran’s
Room at the Ward County
Courthouse. She also ran
a store for a short time
called Dahl’s Variety.
Terrie was a member of
Our Lady of Grace Cathol-
ic Church and was a very
active prayer warrior.
Terrie’s favorite pas-
times were visiting, play-
ing cards, baking cho-
colate chip cookies, and
sitting on her patio having
coffee with the neighbors
who walked by.
Terrie is survived by:
her children, Thomas
(Judi), Bismarck, ND, Cor-
dell (Tamar), Surrey, ND,
Roberta (Tom) Henry,
Westhope, ND, Mary Lou
(Terry) Keyes, Rice Lake,
ND, and William, Minot,
ND; her sisters, Phyllis
Bock, Minot, and Eva
Strand, Barton; brother,
Pat (Donna) Schaan,
Minot; 8 grandchildren; 6
great-grandchildren; and
numerous nieces and
nephews.
Terrie was preceded in
death by: her husband;
parents; twin brother; and
siblings, Joseph, Immanu-
el, Isabelle Abel, Edward
and Clemens.

al: Friday, August 23,
2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Our
Lady of Grace Catholic
Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot,
ND.
Visitation: Thursday
from 5 to 7 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service:
Thursday at 7 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home, Minot.
