McClusky died on Thurs-
day, August 22, 2019 at a
Minot assisted living facil-
ity with her family at her
side.
Melvie Ellen Wanner
was born on February 5,
1938 in Drake, ND to Wil-
liam and Pearl (Bennett)
Lasher. She was raised
and educated in McClu-
sky and graduated from
McClusky High School in
1956.
Melvie married Herbert
Wanner on July 20, 1956
in McClusky. They made
their home at various
places including, but not
limited to, Mercer, ND;
Garrison, ND; Coal
Springs, SD; Grandview,
WA; Everett, WA; Grants,
NM; West Bend, WI; Reed
Springs, MO; Minot, ND
where Herb was em-
ployed as a minister. The
family moved to Minot in
1990 where Melvie was
employed at Hancock Fa-
brics and as a church
secretary at West Minot
Church of God. She re-
tired in 2008. Most recent-ly, Melvie and Herb have
been residents of Edge-
wood Vista.
Melvie was a member of
West Minot Church of
God where she was a Sun-
day School teacher and
participated in the ladies
auxiliary and in a church
circle. She especially en-
joyed her family, God’s
Word, sewing, birdwatch-ing, traveling, exercising
and reading.
Melvie’s loving family
includes her husband of
63 years Herb; children:
Corinne (Glen) Sayler of
Colorado Springs, CO,
JoEllen (Jim) Hallmark of
Noblesville, IN and Tim
(Denice) Wanner of
Minot; grandchildren:
Christopher Sayler, Ni-
cholas Sayler, Steven
(Michelle) Hallmark,
Joshua (Rachel) Hallmark,
Eric (Krystal) Wanner,
Evan (Misty) Wanner and
Stephi (Jeffrey) Leeson;
great grandchildren:
Olivia Hallmark, Sophia
Hallmark, Danielle Hall-
mark, Allison Hallmark,
Dylan Wanner, Dawson
Wanner, Victoria Leeson,
Eric Smith and several
nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Melvie was preceded in
death by her parents and
brothers: Floyd and Orlyn
Lasher.
Celebration of the Life
of Melvie Wanner: Satur-
day, August 31, 2019 at
11:00 a.m. in the West
Minot Church of God.
Graveside Service: Au-
gust 31, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
in the McClusky City
Cemetery.
Visitation: Saturday one
hour prior to the funeral
service.
