Jason Cepek

March 25, 1961-Aug. 8, 2019

Jason James Cepek, 58,

of Nekoosa, Wisconsin,

died unexpectedly on Au-

gust 8th, 2019.

Jason was born in

Eveleth, Minnesota on

March 25, 1961. He was

the son of James and Bar-

bara Cepek.

Traversing down moun-

tain sides with dynamite

as part of a seismograph

crew, hiking Mount Fuji

while stationed in Japan

for the United States Air

Force, canoeing down the

Missouri River with his

children in his beloved

North Dakota, and search-

ing for gold in the Sierra

Nevadas were just a few

earmarks of adventure in

Jason’s life.

Beyond being the ulti-

mate adventure-seeker, Ja-

son was a larger than life

presence in the lives of

those lucky enough to

know him. He spent his

final days tirelessly help-

ing his parents, and he

spent the entirety of his

life much the same way:

being the ultimate care

taker. He loved fiercely,

fought for what he be-

lieved in, and forgave

easily.

Jason struggled through

many hardships

throughout his life, but he

never let them harden his

heart. He had an infec-

tious sense of humor,

often saving up the best

“dad jokes” to use later.

The only thing better

than his laugh was his

truly unforgettable voice.

His voice could soothe a

bad day, give you

hard-won wisdom, reas-

sure you through tough

times, or cheer you up by

song (even better because

he could never get the

words right). Despite

whatever pain he was go-

ing through himself, he

wanted to make sure

those around him never

were.

Jason was preceded in

death by: his sister Patri-

cia.

He is survived by: his

parents, James B. Cepek

and Barbara Lucy Cepek;

his sisters and brothers

Mary Christianson, Mike

(Mel) Cepek, Jim (Mary

Jo) Cepek and Lucy (Bar-

ry) Johnson; The mother

of his children, Toni

Ciserella; his children,

Aaron (Heather) Cepek,

Caitlin Glover (Shawn La-

hammer), and Rachel

(Wesley) Coulam; his

grandchildren, Jayden,

Cameo, Roman, Ira, Avery

and Willa; and his many

nieces and nephews.

Although his life was

cut short, the love he

gave, and spark of joy for

life he imparted, will nev-

er be forgotten; especially

by his six grandchildren.

While he had many roles

in life, perhaps his

greatest was that of

“Papa.”

A graveside service will

be held in Bowbells, ND

for family and close

friends, with a fellowship

to follow in Kenmare, ND.
