Allan was born Febru-
ary 1, 1963 to Harold and
Janice (Huettl) Fetzer of
rural Max. He attended
school in Max, graduating
from Max High School in
class of 1981. After high
school he attended
Bismarck Junior College
and earned a degree in
carpentry. Following gra-
duation, he worked at the
power plants doing con-
struction in the area.
He married Rene’e Ost-
by on June 17, 1983. He
then worked as the
manager at the lumber
yard in Max. In 1986 Al-
lan and Rene’e made their
home on family farm to
help with the dairy and
farming operation.
Allan started Fetzer
Brothers Excavating with
his brother, Mark and
continued to farm and
ranch alongside him.
With this business, Allan
made connections with so
many people. It didn’t
matter where he went,
someone would know
him and have to stop and
visit.
For many years, he also
served as board president
of the Max Rural Fire
Department and was also
a member of the Max
Farm Services board.
Allan loved to travel
and spent many winters
vacationing in Arizona,
Hawaii, Mexico and a
Caribbean cruise with
Rene’e and many of their
close friends.
Aside from his family,
his greatest passion was
racing. Allan, Rene’e,
Morgan and Eric spent
many nights at the race
track. He competed in
various classes
throughout the years at

Through this hobby the
family has gained many
friends that have become
as close as family.
