Allan Fetzer

Feb. 1, 1963 – Jul. 9, 2019

Allan Fetzer, 56, Max,

ND died July 9, 2019 at

CHI St. Alexius Health,

Bismarck, ND following

complications from breast

cancer. Funeral services

will be held on Monday,

July 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St.

Nicholas Catholic Church

in Garrison. Burial will

take place at the Garrison

City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held

on Sunday, July 14 from 5

to 7 p.m. with rosary be-

ginning at 7 p.m. at St. Ni-

cholas Catholic Church.

Allan was born Febru-

ary 1, 1963 to Harold and

Janice (Huettl) Fetzer of

rural Max. He attended

school in Max, graduating

from Max High School in

class of 1981. After high

school he attended

Bismarck Junior College

and earned a degree in

carpentry. Following gra-

duation, he worked at the

power plants doing con-

struction in the area.

He married Rene’e Ost-

by on June 17, 1983. He

then worked as the

manager at the lumber

yard in Max. In 1986 Al-

lan and Rene’e made their

home on family farm to

help with the dairy and

farming operation.

Allan started Fetzer

Brothers Excavating with

his brother, Mark and

continued to farm and

ranch alongside him.

With this business, Allan

made connections with so

many people. It didn’t

matter where he went,

someone would know

him and have to stop and

visit.

For many years, he also

served as board president

of the Max Rural Fire

Department and was also

a member of the Max

Farm Services board.

Allan loved to travel

and spent many winters

vacationing in Arizona,

Hawaii, Mexico and a

Caribbean cruise with

Rene’e and many of their

close friends.

Aside from his family,

his greatest passion was

racing. Allan, Rene’e,

Morgan and Eric spent

many nights at the race

track. He competed in

various classes

throughout the years at

Dacotah Speedway and

Nodak Speedway.

Through this hobby the

family has gained many

friends that have become

as close as family.

Allan is survived by his

mother, Janice Fetzer,

Garrison; wife, Rene’e,

Max; children, Morgan

Bauer (Jarett), Garrison;

Eric (Courtney), Mandan;

grandchildren, Ella and

Lucy Fetzer, Mandan; sis-

ter and brothers, Connie

Busch (Damon), Minot,

Kelly (Janice) Fetzer,

Champlin, MN and Mark

(Amanda) Fetzer, Max; fa-

ther and mother-in-law,

Richard and Kay Ostby,

Douglas; sisters-in-law,

Rachelle (Michael)

Scheresky, Minot, Ronne

(Greg) Ostby-Malling,

Oconomowoc, WI; nieces

and nephews, Rachel,

Ashley and Jordan Busch,

Ryan (Brianna) Fetzer,

Jayden and Caleb

Whanger, Skylar Fetzer,

Allyce and Brook Schere-

sky; great nephew, Ezra

Fetzer; many cousins,

aunts, uncles and close

friends.

He was preceded in

death by his father,

grandparents and many

aunts and uncles.
