Paul A. Iverslie

Paul A. Iverslie passed
away on Saturday, May
11, 2019, of natural
causes, in Mesa AZ.
Paul was born in Minot
on February 6th, 1945 to
Irwin & Alice (Emerson)
Iverslie. He was educated
in the Minot Public
Schools and attended
Minot State. As a youth
he learned how to play
the accordion & organ. In
later years he taught him-
self guitar & built his own
steel guitar.
While in college he be-
gan working for the Great
Northern Railroad on the
loading dock. He
remained with the rail-
road until his retirement
in 2005 from the BNSF.
He was the first clerk to
become a train dispatcher.
In 1969, he met the love
of his life, Margo Grasser,
at a Young Democrats
meeting. They married on
July 1, 1971. They had
one daughter. In 2009
they moved to Mesa, AZ
to be closer to Margo’s
family.
Paul had many and
varied interests. Politics,
economic theory, music
and learning anything that
struck his interest. He &
his father shared a love of
woodworking, and he
could frequently be found
in his workshop or on his
computer planning his
next project. He had a
particularly soft spot for
animals. He would say “If
it has four feet & fur, I can
get along with it.”
He was preceded in
death by: his parents,
Irwin & Alice Iverslie.
He is survived by: his
wife, Margo Iverslie,
Mesa, AZ, daughter Andi
(Jim) Iverslie-Folkner,
Mesa, AZ, grandchildren
AJ (Laura) Folkner, Lari-
more, ND & Kate Folkner,
Mesa, AZ, and his faithful
buddy, Fletcher. He also
has a great-grandson on
the way.
