Marlene Bauer

Angels came to carry

Marlene Bauer, this devot-

ed loving mother and

grandmother to her

heavenly home on May

20, 2019. Marlene had

been a part of this world

since December 19, 1933

when she was born to Dan

and Wilhelmina (Horning)

Boger of rural Garrison.

After graduation from

Garrison High School in

1951 she became a teach-

er at Snow Township rur-

al school and later worked

as clerk for Andersgord’s

Department Store in

Garrison.

On June 6, 1960 she

married Jerome Bauer of

Coleharbor and together

they supported each other

in the farm and dairy

business on their rural

Coleharbor farm.

Throughout her life she

modeled the principles of

hard work, perseverance,

independence and

self-reliance to her family

and those around her.

Marlene is survived

by: their four children:

Marcia (David) Gaertner,

Hugo, MN; John (Robyn)

Bauer, Garrison, ND; Joel

(Nicolle) Bauer of

Coleharbor, ND; Jay

(Heather) Bauer of Ster-

ling ND. Grandchildren:

Zachary (Beth), Luci;

Jarett (Morgan), Brittany

(Chuck); Christopher;

Heather (Mike), Tyler,

Justin, and Samantha.

Great-grandchildren Fin-

nious, Bennett, and Max-

imus. Marlene is also sur-

vived by her sister Ruby,

brothers, Fred, Edwin,

John, and many nieces

and nephews.

She is preceded in

death by: her husband

Jerome; parents Dan and

Wilhelmina Boger; broth-

ers, Elmer, Bill, Leo, Reu-

ben, Alvin and sister,

Emma.

these past few months as

well as the staff of Augus-

ta Place, Bismarck and

Sanford Hospice for their

support in the final week

of Marlene’s life.

Funeral services will be

held on Saturday at 10:30

am at St. Paul Lutheran

Church in Garrison. Buri-

al will be held at the

Garrison City Cemetery.

Visiation will be held

on Friday from 4 to 7 at

Thompson Funeral Home

in Garrison.
