LeRoy A. “Joe” Loder

April 17, 1927 – April 21, 2019

LeRoy A. “Joe” Loder of

Oro Valley, Arizona,

formerly of Minot, North

Dakota, died April 21,

four days after celebrating

his 92nd birthday. He was

born April 17, 1927 in

Juanita, North Dakota to

Albert and Rose (Burda)

Loder. The family moved

to Cooperstown, North

Dakota in 1935. LeRoy en-

tered the U. S. Army Air

Corps in 1945, shortly

after graduating from

Cooperstown High

School. He subsequently

attended North Dakota

State University and then

University of Minnesota

Law School. He practiced

law in Minot for 35 years,

principally with the firm

now known as Pringle &

Herigstad P.C. He served

for a number of years in

the 1950’s and early

1960’s as Ward County

States Attorney. He mar-

ried Ann Hennes of Minot

in 1957. They relocated to

Oro Valley in 1988 fol-

lowing his retirement. He

was an active member of

First Presbyterian Church

in Minot for many years

where he sang regularly in

the choir, and of St.

Andrew’s Presbyterian

Church in Tucson since

1988. He was an avid

golfer well into his

eighties.

Survivors include his

wife Ann; sister Barbara

Osborn, Fishers, Indiana;

sons John (Elizabeth),

Dedham, Mass., Bruce

(Lizz), Fox Point, Wiscon-sin, and James (Jennifer)

Ruckersville, Virginia,

and grandchildren Tho-

mas (Emily), College Sta-

tion Texas, Stephen, Cam-

bridge, Mass., Caitlin

(Trey) Bagwell, Oxford,

Miss., and William,

Milwaukee.
