Larry Johnson

April 18, 1957 – April 18, 2019

Larry Blaine Johnson,

62, rural Kenmare, went

to live with Jesus, Thurs-

day, April 18, 2019 at a

Fargo Hospital surround-

ed by his loving family.

Larry was born April

18, 1957, at the Kenmare

Hospital to Collins and

Arlene (Hermansen) John-

son. He graduated from

Kenmare High School and

Montana Institute of the

Bible (MIB) in Lewistown,

Montana. Larry met the

love of his life, Melinda

Lee Davis, at MIB. They

married October 20, 1979,

in Salem, Oregon. Larry

and Melinda farmed in

rural Kenmare, and raised

grain crops along with

eight daughters. Horses

were always a part of the

farm life that the family

enjoyed, along with baling

square bales every sum-

mer. Larry and Melinda

went on various road trips

and vacations over the

years, usually with the

girls. Larry loved to drive,

and would decide the

family should go to Gla-

cier or Yellowstone on the

spur of the moment.

Numerous trips to the

beach in Oregon are also

fun memories. Larry’s

eight daughters were the

joy of his life. The girls

spent hours outside with

Dad, and he loved to see

them dressed up for

church, singing and play-

ing music.

Larry was an active

member of Faith Baptist

Church, Kenmare. Larry

served on the Kenmare

School Board for 16 years,

was currently on the Ken-

mare Township Board,

the Trinity Lutheran

Cemetery Board, and was

a Deacon and Sunday

School Superintendent at

Faith Baptist Church. He

taught Sunday School,

and was a past Youth

Group leader along with

Melinda. He worked in

AWANA for many years,

both as a leader and as the

Commander. Larry drove

school bus, and also drove

bus to many field trips

and games. Larry had the

ability to fix almost any-

thing, and built various

projects out of wood over

the years. The last thing

he made was a bookshelf

for Anne’s college apart-

ment. Larry was known

for his love for God,

honesty, integrity, pati-

ence, love for his wife and

eight daughters, and his

willingness to help every-

one with anything. His

generosity continues with

the donation of his or-

gans.
