Carol Brandt, 71, of

Oakes, ND, passed away

April 8, 2019 at Sanford

Health, Fargo, ND.

Carol Lynn Koster,

daughter of Lloyd and La-

Vaughn Koster was born

January 27, 1948 at Bot-

tineau, ND. She graduated

from Kramer High School

and then attended a busi-

ness school in Minot,

where she received her

certificate. In 1968 she

married Gaylon Brandt,

and in 1969 they moved

to their farm west of

Oakes. Carol was an in-

tegral asset to the family

operation, working along-

side of her husband while

they raised their family.

She also worked as a CNA

at the Good Samaritan

Center for many years.

Carol was a member of

St. John’s Lutheran

Church. She enjoyed gar-

dening, second hand

shopping and quilting,

making several quilts for

mission trips. One of

Carol’s greatest joys was

that she loved being a

grandma.

She is survived by her

husband Gaylon; son

Chad Brandt of Oakes;

daughter Leigh (Noel)

Rieder and grand-

daughters Abbie & Ali

Rieder all of Littleton, CO;

her mother LaVaughn

Koster of Minot, ND; and

sister Luanne Rubbert of

Bottineau, ND. Carol was

preceded in death by her

father, mother-in-law, fa-

ther-in-law and brother-

in-law.

A memorial service will

be held on Saturday,

April 27, 2019 at 2:00

p.m. at St. John’s Luth-

eran Church in Oakes, fol-

lowed by food and fellow-ship at the church.
