Donna Tonneson, 81,
longtime Minot resident
died on Friday, February
8, 2019 in a Fergus Falls,
MN assisted living facili-
ty.
Donna Mae was born on
September 9, 1937 in Bag-
ley, MN to Alfred and
Manda (Sovick) Ander-
son. She was raised on a
farm near Clearbrook, MN
and attended country
schools prior to graduat-
ing from Clearbrook High
School in 1954. She con-
tinued her education at
the Lutheran Bible Insti-
tute in Minneapolis, MN
for one year and at Con-
cordia College in Moor-
head, MN.
Donna married Curtis
Tonneson on June 1, 1957
in Clearbrook. They made
their home in Newfolden,
MN and she was em-
ployed as a ward clerk at
St. John’s Hospital in Far-
go and as secretary at the
Newfolden School. The
family moved to Minot in
1964 where she was em-
ployed at Trinity Hospital
for three years and Bel Air
Elementary School for 30
years. She retired in 1998.
Curt died on November
2, 2011. Donna had con-
tinued to make her home
in Minot prior to moving
to the Park Gardens
Senior Living Center
Memory Care unit in
Fergus Falls, MN in 2018
which allowed her to be
closer to her son and his
family.
Donna was a longtime
member of Our
Redeemer’s Church and
its Women’s Missionary
Fellowship. Also, she was
a member of the Christian
Women’s Club, Sons of
Norway, Good Sam Club
and Family Motor Coach
Association and volun-
teered at various places in
Minot. She especially en-
joyed traveling in their
motorhome, reading, em-
broidery, cooking and
baking.
Donna’s loving family
includes her son: Steven
(Lynette) Tonneson of
Fergus Falls; grand-
daughters: Angela (Scott)
Skones, Krista (Joey) Brat-
vold and Alyssa (Alan)
Jermiason;
great-grandchildren:
Maycee, Lailoni, Jayce,
Bryce, Brenna and Han-
nah; sister-in-law: Judy
Anderson of Bemidji, MN
and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Donna was preceded in
death by: her parents,
husband Curt, son Daniel
and brother H. Dean
Anderson.
Celebration of the Life
of Donna Tonneson: Sa-
turday, February 16, 2019
at 1:00 p.m. in Our
Redeemer’s Church –
Minot.
Interment will be in
Rosehill Memorial Park –
Minot.
Visitation: Friday from
3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
in Thomas Family Funeral
Home – Minot.
Memorials are preferred
to Our Redeemer’s Chris-
tian School.
