Janet Topolski, 69,
Minot, passed away on
Sunday, December 2,
2018 in her sister’s home,
following a courageous
battle with Alzheimer’s
Disease.
Janet Kay Staael was
born on December 19,
1948 to Christ and LaVern
(Roberg) Staael. She at-
tended country school. In
1971, she moved to Minot
and began working at the
Holiday Inn.
On March 3, 1977, Janet
was blessed with a
daughter, Annie. She con-
tinued to live in Minot
until 1985 when she
moved to Portal. Janet was
married to Henry Topol-
ski until he passed away
in 2016. From this union,
on July 12, 1986 Janet was
blessed with a second
daughter, Janelle.
In 2000, Janet moved
back to Minot where she
worked at Gladys on 4th.
In 2010, Janet resided
with her daughter Annie
due to medical issues. In
2018, Janet moved to Ma-
ple View and most recent-ly she lived with her sis-
ter, Joyce.
Janet never let her disa-
bilities prevent her from
doing what she wanted to
do and living life to the
fullest. She loved being
outdoors in the garden or
camping.
She is survived by her
two daughters, Annie
(Warren) Mayer, Minot,
and Janelle (Chris)
Meredith, South Pekin Il-
linois, six grandchildren –
Hayden, Hayley, and Car-
son Mayer and Savannah
Topoloski, Matthew, and
Chole Meredith. Sisters –
Jean (Bennie) Mayer,
Joyce Clock and Jackie
(Michael) Duke from
Minot, Brother – Thomas
Staael, Minneapolis, MN,
and numerous nephews
and great-nieces and
nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in
death by her parents
Christ and LaVern Staael.
Visitation: There will be
no reviewal as cremation
has taken place, however,
people may sign a guest
register on Saturday, De-
cember 8, 2018 one hour
prior to the service at the
church.
Memorial Service: Sa-
turday, December 9, 2018,
2:00 pm at Peace Lutheran
Church, Burlington, ND.
Burial: A private family
burial will take place at a
later date in the spring of
2019.
