James Poehler

James ‘Jim’ Poehler, 77,

Minot, died Wednesday,

December 12, 2018, in his

home.

Jim was born January 7,

1941, in Albert Lea, MN,

to Merrill and Bessie

(Dedina) Poehler. He

spent his youth in Minot

and completed his educa-

tion as a graduate of

Minot Model in 1959.

Jim enlisted into the US

Army on October 29,

1959, and served his

country honorably in Ger-

many until his discharge

in 1962. He returned to

Minot and was employed

by Granite Springs Water

and Ice Company and

Sweetheart Bakery for

many years.

Jim was once married

and was blessed with a

daughter, Jennifer. They

moved to Wisconsin in

the early 1970s. Jim was

employed as a Press Brake

Operator for Super Steel

Products until he retired

in 2004 and returned to

Minot.

Jim was a member of

Bethany Lutheran

Church, Minot. He en-

joyed hunting and fishing

with his brother and spent

many hours tending his

garden.

Jim is survived by his

daughter, Jennifer Poeh-

ler, Waukesha, WI; grand-

daughter, Deirdra Poehler;

great-grandson, Kaedon

Laviola; sister, Marlene

Schoenberg, Minot, and

brothers, Richard Poehler,

Minot, and Robert Poeh-

ler, Fargo; along with

numerous nieces and

nephews.

Jim was preceded in

death by his parents; in-

fant sister Carol; sister-

in-law Janice Poehler and

nephew Ronald Poehler.

Funeral service: 1:00

p.m. Thursday, December

27, 2018, at the Thomas

Family Funeral Home,

Minot.

Interment: Rosehill

Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation will be held

on Wednesday, December

26, 2018, from 3:00 p.m.

until 6:00 p.m. at the Tho-

mas Family Funeral

Home, Minot.
