Charlotte Mary Ambers

Charlotte Mary Ambers,

102, Minot, died Satur-

day, October 13, 2018 at

her son’s residence in

Minot.

Charlotte was born on

January 14, 1916 at

Bismarck, North Dakota

the daughter of Herman

and Amelia (Kortbein)

Scheer. She was raised on

the family farm near Ham-

berg, ND and educated at

rural schools near Heim-

dal in Wells County.

Charlotte was united in

marriage to Elmer Ambers

on October 24, 1937. They

lived at Hamburg, ND,

where he was employed

with the Great Northern

Railway and she owned

and operated a beauty

shop. They were active

members of the Concordia

Lutheran Church and she

served with the ladies

aide group there.

Elmer and Charlotte

moved to Sandpoint,

Idaho in the early 1960’s,

where he was the found-

er, owner and operator of

Idaho Hide and Steel,

later known as Pacific

Hide and Fur. They were

active at First Lutheran

Church while living there.

After nearly 20 years in

business, they retired in

1981 and moved to Minot

to live closer to their son

and his family. Elmer

died March 14, 2004.

Charlotte continued to

live with her son and

daughter-in-law, receiving

the highest quality of

adult elder-care.

Charlotte loved to go to

the horse races in

Spokane, WA when they

lived in Idaho. She was a

wonderful baker and

loved being around her

grandchildren and great-

grandchildren. Blessed be

her memory.

Her loving family in-

cludes, son, Elmer (Mavis)

Ambers, Minot; grand-

daughters: Cindy (June

Peterson) Gohl of Eden

Prairie, MN; Laura (Val-

len) Norsby, Minot, ND;

great-grandchildren: Car-

rie (Andrew) Wyman,

Eden Prairie, MN, Amber

(Dirk) Mikkelson, Minot,

ND, April Norsby, Fair-

banks, AK, Ian Norsby,

Minot, ND and Cristine

Perry, Eden Prairie, MN;

great-great-grand-

daughters: Amy, Abigail

and Avery Mikkelson,

Minot, ND; great-great-

grandsons: Declan Wy-

man and Jacob Perry,

Eden Prairie, MN; several

nieces, nephews and

cousins.

Charlotte was preceded

in death by her parents;

husband, Elmer; siblings,

Erma, Martha, Amelia, El-

mer, Fred and Arthur.

Graveside service:

Wednesday, October 17,

2018 at 2:00 p.m. in

Rosehill Memorial Park,

Minot.

Gathering & Reception:

Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at

Elmer and Mavis Ambers’

home located at 601 21st

St NW – Minot.
