Sherry Jean Stoskopf of
Berthold, North Dakota
passed away on June 28,
2018 in San Antonio, TX
at Brookdale memory care
facility. Sherry was born
on May 17, 1941 in Great
Bend, Kansas to Thaine
and Jean Ewing. Sherry
was a devoted, supportive
military wife to her hus-
band Fred Stoskopf, a lov-
ing mother, respected
educator, admirer of an-
imals and great friend to
all. Sherry received her
Master of Arts degree at
Fort Hays Kansas State
College and was a dedicat-ed English professor that
began her teaching career
at Colby Junior College.
She also taught at Mary-
ville State College, Ken-
mare High School and
Minot State University
where she retired after 28
years.
Mrs. Stoskopf enjoyed
hiking, dancing, game
night with Ron and Mary
Landenberger and “get to-
gethers” with close
friends. She also enjoyed
her travels to Amsterdam
and Kenya for visits with
her grandson, volunteer-
ing with Mandan Amateur
Athletic Union Track and
Field Club.
Sherry is preceded in
death by her parents and
her cherished friend of
sixteen years Goldie, her
dog and is survived by
her beloved husband Fred
Stoskopf, daughter Patrina
Marie Stoskopf, son John
Frederick Stoskopf V,
grandsons Jacob Frederick
Stoskopf and Ryan Patrick
Stoskopf, granddaughter
Haven Keeta Grace
Stoskopf and grand-dog
Tiny.
Visitation for Mrs.
Stoskopf will be July 17,
2018 from 4 p.m. to 6
p.m. under the direction
of Davis Funeral Chapel at
531 Shawnee St., Leaven-
worth, Kansas and Com-
mittal Service to be held
at Leavenworth National
Cemetery on July 18, 2018
at 10 a.m. in Leaven-
worth, Kansas 66048. A
Celebration of Life Tri-
bute will be at the Man-
dan ND Eagles club July
21, 2018 at 2-4:30 pm.
