Mary Bloms
May 23, 1924-April 23, 2018
Mary Bloms, 93, Minot,
died Monday, April 23,
2018 at Trinity Homes in
Minot.
Mary was born in Bar-
ton, ND on May 23, 1924,
to Peter and Magdalena
Kraft. She passed away on
April 23, 2018, at the age
of 93.
She lived in the Barton
area until 1928, when the
family moved near Gran-
ville, ND. She attended
North Prairie Country
Schools, Velva High
School, and Norwich
High School, graduating
in 1943. She attended
Minot Business College,
then worked at
Montgomery Ward in
Minot. Following that, she
worked at Hill Air Force
Base in Ogden, Utah; then
Sacramento, California;
and finally Reno, Nevada.
She then returned to
North Dakota, where she
met Ralph Bloms. They
were married October 28,
1947, at St. Leo’s Catholic
Church in Minot. They
lived on the Bloms family
homestead, growing
grains and raising cattle in
the Foxholm area, until
Ralph’s passing on May
2nd, 1986. Mary has lived
in Minot since then, most
recently at the Wellington
Assisted Living Facility.
Mary belonged to St.
Henry’s Church, rural
Foxholm, St. Mary’s
Church, Foxholm, and
Little Flower and St. John
the Apostle, Minot. She
was a member of Chris-
tian Mothers at St. Mary’s
and St. John’s. She was
also an active member in
their prayer chain for
many years.
Mary enjoyed spending
time with family, having
long phone conversations,
playing whist, doing
crossword puzzles, and
keeping a daily diary.
Throughout her entire
life, remembering dates
and special occasions was
important to her. That
quality helped her never
miss the opportunity to
send handwritten cards to
recognize special occa-

friends.
