Bernice Melom

services were held April 6

in Bloomington and April

30 in Worthington, with

burial there.

She was born on a farm

at Ruso to John & Hilda

Johnson. Baptized and

Confirmed at First Luth-

eran in Ruso. She attend-

ed school in Ruso, Ameri-

can School of Chicago and

the Lutheran Bible Insti-

tute of Minneapolis.

She married Rueben

Melom in Norfolk, VA Oc-

tober 30, 1942 where he

was stationed in the Navy.

They lived in Norwich,

Wilton in ND, Kensington

and Worthington, MN.

She was a stay at home

mom. Later was employed

at Gordan Drug in sales

and bookkeeping in

Worthington after her

boys were old enough.

She was a member of First

Lutheran Church in

Worthington where she

was active in Women’s

Circle, Seasoned Citizens,

Mission Quilting Group &

Sunday School Teacher.

She and Reuben were

members of RVSP and

were Red Cross

volunteers.

Rueben passed away in

August 1991. In 2005 she

moved to Bloomington,

MN to be closer to her

sons Gary & John and

their families.

She is Survived by sons
