GLENBURN – Cory
Mahle, 90, Glenburn, died
Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at
a Mohall nursing home.
He was born Sept. 2,
1927, in Osteroy, Norway,
to Rasmus and Maria
(Dale) Mahle. He was
raised in Norway, attend-
ed schools there, and
served in the Norwegian
Air Force. In 1949, he
came to the U.S. to work
on his aunt and uncle’s
(Carrie Nelson) farm near
Glenburn and also served
in the National Guard and
Army Reserves. He at-
tended the North Dakota
Agricultural College in
Fargo.
Cory married Kari
Roalkvam on Sept. 20,
1959, at Trinity Lutheran
Church, Glenburn. After
working on his aunt’s
farm for a number of
years, he purchased it and
continued to farm until
his retirement in 1997. He
and Kari expanded and
improved the operation
over the years. Farming
was his true passion.
Cory was an active
member of Trinity Luth-
eran Church, Glenburn,
where he served as chair-
man of the church coun-
cil, participated in the
building committee, and
was financial secretary for
over 20 years. He was a
member of the Ensign
Township Board, RBAIA
Crop Improvement, Scan-
dinavian Heritage Asso-
ciation, life member of the
Sons of Norway, Thor
Lodge, where he served as
financial secretary, was
active in the Norsk Host-
fest since its inception,
served as president and
board member of the Ren-
ville County Farmers Un-
ion, was a member of the
Moose Lodge, and re-
ceived the Renville Coun-
ty Soil Conservation
Award in 1983. He en-
joyed family time, fishing
and camping, traveling
and dancing.

ter, Kjellaug Hartveit, Os-
teroy, Norway; and
numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins in
Norway.
Cory was preceded in
death by: his parents;
and siblings, Rannveig
Borge, Martha Vevle, Nils
Mahle and Ragnar Mahle.
Funeral: 11 a.m., Fri-
day, Dec. 22, 2017, at
Trinity Lutheran Church,
Glenburn.
Burial: Sunset Memori-al Gardens, Minot.
