Conrad Christianson
Jan. 17, 1920-Sept. 28, 2017
Conrad (Connie) Chris-
tianson, 97, Bismarck,
died Thursday, September
28, 2017, at CHI St. Alex-
ius Medical Center in
Bismarck.
Conrad was born Janu-
ary 17, 1920, on the fami-
ly farmstead east of Glen-
burn, North Dakota, the
son of Morris and Ida
Christianson. He was
raised in the Glenburn
area, attending Glenburn
public schools. After gra-
duating from Glenburn
High School in 1938 he
began farming. On No-
vember 4, 1945, he mar-
ried Agnes Geneva Mo-
gard in Deering, North
Dakota. Conrad and Agnes
farmed in the Glenburn
area until their retirement
in 1987 and were active
members of the Glenburn
community. In 2012 they
moved to the Touchmark
retirement community in
Bismarck to be closer to
two of their daughters.
Conrad was a member
of Our Savior’s Lutheran
Church prior to its disso-
lution in 1969 and then a
member of Trinity Luth-
eran Church in Glenburn.
He was actively involved
in Our Savior’s, serving
on the Church Council
and the Cemetery Board
and participating in the
church bowling league.
In his early days, he en-
joyed playing basketball
and baseball. After he re-
tired he actively pursued
the game of golf. An in-
volved member of the
Glenburn Senior Citizen’s
Center, he enjoyed play-
ing cards and billiards
with other center mem-
bers. After retiring, Con-
rad and Agnes enjoyed
traveling throughout the
United States as well as
England, Scotland, Wales
and Norway. They also
often visited their daugh-
ters in various parts of the
United States.
Conrad had a keen
sense of humor and en-
joyed teasing, always with
a twinkle in his eye. His
family will always re-
member his smile and
wink as he pulled off
another prank. He was a
devoted husband and very
loving father, grandfather
