Olyve J. Enders, 93,

Minot, passed away on

Monday, August 14, 2017

at the Southwest Health-

care Long-term Center in

Bowman.

The first of two services

will be held in Bowman,

ND on Thursday, August

17, 2017 at 10:30 am

(MST) at the Bowman

Lutheran Church.

Olyve Engen was born

on February 7, 1924 the

youngest of nine children

raised by Hans and

Amelia Engen. She was

educated in country

schools in south Meadow

Township in Williams

County, ND and graduat-

ed from Williston High

School in 1942.

Olyve was then em-

ployed by Midwest

Lumber in Williston and

Minot Builders of Minot.

She was united in mar-

riage to Walter Enders on

August 2, 1944. “Wally”

and “Olly” made their

home on his family’s farm

northwest of Minot in

Harrison Township where

they raised their children;

Marilyn, Roger and Linda.

Following Wally’s passing

in October 1978, she

moved to Minot in 1979.

Olyve was a member of

Augustana Lutheran

Church, Minot, where she

was active in the Altar

Guild and Naomi Church

Circle in addition to serv-

ing on many committees

within the church. She

served many years as the

coordinator of many lun-

cheons for funeral ser-

vices and gatherings at the

church. Olyve was a

member of the ELCW and

a past member of the

Eurkea Homemakers

Club.

She worked hard on the

farm raking hay and rais-

ing chickens, and along-

side her daughter they

raised acres of corn to sell

at the farmers market.

She often used the funds

from her corn sales to buy

special things for her fam-

ily. Olly was best known

for her Norwegian baking.

She was an avid reader

and enjoyed playing

cards. She made hun-

dreds of quilts for Luth-

eran World Relief and

Ward County foster chil-

dren.

Olly will be warmly

remembered by her chil-

dren, Gene and Marilyn

Fischer and their chil-

dren, Gina and Jay Griffin,

Marcus and Mary Fischer,

Maretta and Brett Hen-

drickson, Jen and Rick Pa-

dilla and Deanna and

Jonathan Jeffers; Roger

and Kathy Enders and

their children, Ruth and

Joe Faul and Lee and

Cammi Enders; Linda

Enders and Linden Horob;

and 24

great-grandchildren.

Olyve was preceded in

death by her parents, hus-

band, sisters, Emma, Ella,

Inga, Jean, Serena and Lil-

ly and brothers, Erling

and Eddie.

Funeral Service: 2:00

p.m. Friday, August 18,

2017 at Christ Lutheran

Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill

Memorial Park, Minot

Visitation will be held

one hour prior to the ser-

vice at the church.
