Lillian Stroud

Lillian Stroud, 97, of
Minot, passed away
peacefully on August 11,
2017, in the care of Trini-
ty Nursing Home, Minot.
Lillian was born Febru-
ary 15, 1920, the daughter
of Melvin and Grace
(Druey) Davis in Brook-
ings, SD. Lillian moved
with her parents in 1936
to Minot, ND where she
attended high school.
Lillian married Floyd
Stroud on November 26,
1936 in Minot. They
chose to settle in “The
Magic City” where they
could enjoy life and raise
their family. A caregiver
by nature, Lillian was a
long time employee of
Trinity Medical Center in
Central Supply where she
worked from the early
1960s until her retirement
in the early 1980s. Fol-
lowing her retirement, Lil-
lian diligently continued
to volunteer at Trinity
Medical Center beginning
in the 1990s and ending
in 2000.
Lillian’s faith and fel-
lowship within her
church were cornerstones
of her life. She was a life-
long member of All Saints
Episcopal Church in
Minot and cherished the
lasting friendships she
made there. She was a
proud contributing
member of All Saints
Guild. Lillian lived her
life in the belief that we
are all God’s children and
exemplified this by being
a strong early supporter of
civil rights. Throughout
her lifetime she developed
friendships with many
who came from diverse
cultural backgrounds. Lil-
lian was a loving mother
and a doting grandmother.
She was always happy to
share memories of her life
experiences and in turn,
took great pride in the
achievements of her chil-
dren and grandchildren.
Lillian will be greatly
missed by her family and
friends, but her spirit will
live on within each of us.
Lillian is survived by
three children, Rodney
(Lois) Stroud, Rochelle
(James) Glowaski and
John (Brandy Jo) Stroud;
thirteen grandchildren,
Gordan (Toni) Stroud,
Scott (Susan) Stroud,
Shawn (Amy) Stroud,
Steve (Diana) Stroud,
Shannon (Shauna)
Stroud, Mark Stroud,
Danielle Rice, Sacha
(Dariusz) Floriancyk, Re-
becca (Brandon)
Marshaw, Christoph
Finglovsky, Josef (Kristen)
Glowaski, Katherine (Phil-
lip) Ybarra, Jacqueline
(Javier) Lopez and many
great grandchildren.
Lillian is preceded in
death by: her parents,
Melvin and Grace (Druey)
Davis; husband, Floyd
Stroud and son, Melvin
Stroud.
Funeral service: 3:00
p.m. Sunday, August 20,
2017 at All Saints Ep-
iscopal Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation will be held
Saturday, August 19,
2017, from 2:00 p.m. until
5:00 p.m. at the Thomas
Family Funeral Home in
Minot.
