Esther was born on Sep-

tember 16, 1929 to Willi-

am and Magdalena Sutter

on the farm by Sawyer,

ND.

She was united in mar-

riage to Mervin (Bud) Tor-

vik November 22, 1949.

They lived in Minot until

March 2005 when they

moved to Monticello, MN

to be near family.

She is survived by: her

daughter, Debra (John)

Smolenski in Big Lake,

MN and son, Brian (Iris)

Torvik in Idaho Falls, ID;

grandchildren, Lori

(Travis) MacDonald in St

Michael, MN, Mike

Smolenski in Plymouth,

MN, Kara (Jeremiah)

Smith in Idaho Falls, ID

and Joshua Torvik in Bed-

ford, TX;

great-grandchildren,

Kingston & Piper Torvik,

Leila & Knox Smith as

well as many nieces and

nephews.

Esther was preceded in

death by: her husband,

parents, three sisters and

seven brothers.
