The annual Team Minot Cookie Drive, an event to bring Christmas cheer to first-term airmen at Minot Air Force Base, is a longtime tradition between the base and Minot community.

This year’s event is being planned for next week, according to Minot AFB and Minot Area Chamber EDC officials.

Anyone who would like to bake and donate cookies can drop them off Monday, Dec. 15, and Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., at the Minot Area Chamber EDC office at 1020 20th Ave. SW.

Cookies must be placed in disposable packaging and include a numbered count.

The cookies are packaged at the base and then distributed to first-term airmen between ages 18-20 who live in the dormitories at Minot AFB. These airmen are required to live in the dorms and many of them have never been away from their families for the holidays.

In recent years, between donations from the base and community, more than 11,000-12,000 cookies were delivered to military personnel during the Christmas season.

For more information, call the Chamber at 852-6000.

Starting at $2.99/week.
