Moises Chavez

The Minot Police Department reported Thursday, Nov. 13, that it obtained a warrant for the arrest of Moises N. Chavez, 45, of Minot, on charges of terrorizing and aggravated assault, both Class C felonies.

This investigation stems from an Oct. 29 incident in which officers responded to an aggravated assault report that led to a SWAT Team activation at a residence in southwest Minot.

The incident began when a victim was transported to the hospital with injuries sustained during the assault. During the initial investigation, it was believed the suspect was barricaded inside the residence and potentially armed. The SWAT Team utilized various less-lethal tactics designed to encourage the suspect to exit the residence and allow officers to safely resolve the situation. As the investigation progressed, officers determined the suspect was not inside the residence. The victim received medical treatment for injuries.
