Two arrested for narcotics after traffic stop

STANLEY — The Stanley Police Department has announced the arrest of two individuals on narcotic-related charges after a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 2 on Thursday, Nov. 27.

According to Stanley Police information, at about 11:03 p.m., a Stanley police officer observed a Nissan Rogue on Highway 2 at mile marker 90 with no tail lights on and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver was identified as Jessica Lambert, 27, Anchorage, Alaska, whom the officer noted exhibited nervous behavior and provided inconsistent information. Lambert allegedly admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle, and a search located marijuana, a small baggie containing 2.63 grams of a crystal-like substance, which field tested positive for methamphetamine, and paraphernalia with residue on it.

Jeffery Soular, 34, Fargo, a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly failed to comply with the officer’s commands as he was arrested and resisted being handcuffed, leading to a short altercation before he was restrained. Soular continuously banged his head on the cage in the back of the patrol car and was transported for medical clearance prior to booking, which found no injuries were sustained.

Soular has been charged with Class A misdemeanor counts of preventing arrest, possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and one infraction for possession of marijuana. Lambert also has been charged with an infraction for marijuana possession.
