‘Teen Takeover’ contest seeks submissions
BISMARCK –The State Historical Society of North Dakota is accepting submissions for the 2026 “Teen Takeover” contest. Teens ages 13-18 are invited to submit an original work interpreting the theme “What will North Dakota look like 250 years in the future?”
This year’s theme encourages participants to reflect on how North Dakota’s communities, landscapes and ways of life could evolve in the centuries to come. Whether through 2D visual art or written creative expression, teens are encouraged to bring their unique voices and visions to life.
Contest entries are due by Friday, Dec. 5. Finalists’ work will be displayed in spring 2026 at the State Museum, and a grand champion will be awarded $150 provided by the State Historical Society of North Dakota Foundation.
