BUTTE – A 63-year-old Ruso man died this past weekend in a one-vehicle rollover on N.D. Highway 53, near Butte.

The victim was identified as Ward Knutson.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, between the evening hours of Saturday, Nov. 8, and morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 9, Knutson, driving a 1999 Ford F-250, was traveling west on N.D. Highway 53. Knutson lost control of the vehicle on the ice-covered road and entered the south ditch, where the vehicle rolled and came to rest on its driver’s side. Knutson was found dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Highway Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
