AFGSC commander, former Minot AFB commander nominated

WASHINGTON – Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced on Friday that President Trump has made the following nominations:

– Air Force Gen. Thomas Bussiere for reappointment to the grade of general, with assignment as vice chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Bussiere is currently serving as commander of Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. Minot Air Force Base’s 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing are units of AFGSC.

– Air Force Lt. Gen. Stephen Davis for appointment to the grade of general, with assignment as commander of Air Force Global Strike Command and commander of Air Forces Strategic-Air, U.S. Strategic Command at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. Davis is currently serving as inspector general of the Department of the Air Force with the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He was commander of the 91st Missile Wing at Minot AFB from June 2011-June 2012.
