John Hoeven Elementary of Minot and Stanley Elementary School have been named two of the top 10 North Dakota schools recognized for their success with the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge during the 2022-23 school year.

Students are encouraged to get their hearts pumping with physical activity while working their minds with digital lessons to learn life-saving skills like CPR. Students also raised funds to further the American Heart Association’s outreach and scientific research programs.

According to research funded by the American Heart Association, physical activity in children can lead to improved mental health, better grades, higher school attendance and better classroom behavior.
