Aeronautics Commission awards airport grants

Minot International Airport has been awarded $672,019 through the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission for airport maintenance and improvements, the commission announced Thursday.

The airport proposes to use the funds for snow removal equipment, runway improvements, drainage improvements, wildlife mitigation, project planning and pavement maintenance.

The Williston airport also received $63,175 for improvements as a commercial service airport.

The commission finalized about $8.5 million in state infrastructure grant allocations. There were 165 individual projects from 68 different public-use airports throughout the state that received awards.

The allocations included $5 million from funding made available through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act.
