Home test kits for COVID-19 aren’t available yet from First District Health Unit, but its executive director says they are coming.

“We’re getting lots of calls, wondering if we have home tests available. At this time, we do not, but we anticipate that that will change,” Lisa Clute told the Minot City Council Monday. “When that becomes available, and when we meet with some other partners and we determine how those tests will become available and where people can get that, we will make those announcements.”

First District Health Unit also has been watching the trendline for new COVID-19 cases go down in its seven-county area. As numbers continue to decline, Clute said, weekend testing is likely to end after this coming weekend.

“This past Sunday we did 70 tests,” she said. “We were running at about 360 a day.”

First District has provided and will continue to provide testing during the week by appointment.
