Repeat offender Sandor Balogh, Minot, sentenced to two years for intent to deliver marijuana

Sandor Miklos Balogh, 53, Minot, was sentenced on Friday in district court in Minot to two years in prison for Class C felony possession with intent to deliver to deliver marijuana in August.

Balogh will receive credit for 73 days already served in jail, plus 10 days off his sentence for good behavior. He was also ordered to pay $1,100 in court costs.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the Ward County Narcotics Task Force searched Balogh’s residence 310 2nd Street SE, Apt. 406 and found a one pound, six ounces of marijuana in Balogh’s bedroom. Balogh admitted he had been selling marijuana.

The sentence is concurrent with a sentence in a 2008 case in district court in Bismarck. Balogh was sentenced in 2011 in district court in Bismarck to 10 years in prison for Class A felony delivery of oxycodone and two counts of Class B felony delivery of marijuana. His parole in that case has been revoked.
