Fuel the Fight to be held Sept. 10

Trinity Health Foundation is partnering with several local businesses to host the 4th Annual Fuel the Fight event Sept. 10 at Dakota Square Arco.

Proceeds from the day-long event will be used to provide cancer patients with prepaid gas vouchers to assist with transportation costs to and from oncology treatments. “Considering our large rural service area, it is not uncommon for patients to travel more than 100 miles roundtrip to the Trinity CancerCare Center for their treatments,” said Al Evon, Director of Trinity Health Foundation.

This year’s fundraiser again features a drawing for “Free Gas for a Year,” donated by First International Bank & Trust. Anyone who purchases at least 8 gallons of gas the day of the event will be eligible for the drawing, which will give the winner $50 worth of gas per week for 52 weeks.

Specialty coffee drinks will be available from the Magic Bean Coffee Brewing Company from 8 to 10 a.m. and lunch from the Hitchin’ Kitchen will also be available for purchase during lunch hours (12 noon to 4 p.m.). Both food trucks have generously agreed to donate a portion of their sales that day to the event.

Also featured is a raffle for numerous prizes, including an Ice House donated by Scheels, a 75″ TV provided by The Stereo Shop, a Foosball table provided by Magic City Home Leisure, and more. A percentage of purchases from the Dakota Square Arco, including fuel and merchandise, will be donated to the cause.

In the past three years the Fuel the Fight event has raised more than $125,000 to assist CancerCare patients. People who are unable to attend but would still like to donate may do so online at https://www.trinityhealth.org/foundation/ fuel-the-fight-2021/.
