One of Roosevelt Park Zoo’s giraffes is shown in this photo. On Sunday, the zoo will observe World Giraffe Day and Father’s Day. Activities are planned for the kids and there will be education tables set up in conjunction with World Giraffe Day. Fathers will have free admission to the zoo with the purchase of a child admission. World Giraffe Day is is an annual event initiated by Giraffe Conservation Federation to celebrate the longest-necked animal on the longest day of the year, June 21. The day is to raise support and create awareness of the challenges that wild giraffes face.
