Airports receive infrastructure grants
The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission has finalized about $5 million in state infrastructure grants to 53 multiple public airports for 102 projects.
The Minot airport will receive $46,091 as a 50% matching grant for crack sealing, pavement markings and to purchase a skid steer.
Area airports receiving grants were:
– Bottineau, $19,057 for crack sealing and $13,050 for easement purchase.
– Garrison, $5,626 for crack sealing.
– Mohall, $6,322 for crack sealing.
– Rugby, $19,988 for crack sealing.
– Tioga, $25,209 for crack sealing, $7,773 to repair runway lighting and $5,000 to install security system.
– Westhope, $592 for crack sealing and $25,438 for runway lighting construction.
– Crosby, $57,500 to construct snow removal equipment building.
– Fessenden, $3,336 for maintenance trailer.
– New Town, $5,625 for GPS approach maintenance agreements and $40,250 for community hanger.
– Rolla, $8,000 for updating fuel system card reader.
– Stanley, $3,075 to purchase lighted wind sock, $51,390 to purchase and remodel snow removal equipment building and $88,150 to purchase tractor.
– Watford City, $2,389 to repair concrete apron, $27,000 to replace weather sensor and $14,000 to purchase snow removal equipment.
A majority of the grant allocations are made possible through the Aeronautics Commission’s Special Fund, which derives most of its revenue from state tax collections on aviation fuel and aircraft sales.
