Gloria Olson sentenced to 28 days time served, 3 years probation, for intent to deliver methamphetamine

Gloria Jean Olson, 60, was sentenced on April 28 to five years in prison, with all suspended but the 28 days she has already served in the Ward County Jail, and three years of supervised probation for Class B felony intent to deliver methamphetamine and Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia on Aug. 6, 2020 in Minot.

Judge Gary Lee also ordered Olson to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $1,350 in court costs.

Other charges against her were dismissed under the terms of a plea deal, including Class B felony possession with intent to deliver marijuana, one count of Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and Class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Minot police received a tip that there were drug deals going on at 506 6th Street SW, Apt. L. They passed the tip to the Ward County Narcotics Task Force, which conducted surveillance outside the apartment and spotted signs of drug dealing activity. The task force searched the contents of trash bags set out of the home. The bags contained items associated with Olson, used and broken needles, a large empty butane container, four small plastic bags containing suspected methamphetamine residue, and an expended .45 caliber pistol cartridge. The officers obtained a search warrant for Olson’s apartment. Inside the apartment they found pipes, scrapers and bags with suspected meth residue and a scale with suspected meth and marijuana residue. Olson’s purse contained glass pipes, two small bags with suspected meth and two bags of suspected marijuana.
