Farm Rescue is ready for the spring planting season.

Dan Erdmann, Farm Rescue program manager, said the organization has a number of applications for spring planting assistance. He said the first case is set to take place near Badger, Minnesota, for a farmer who was injured in a fall while working on his farm.

He said their volunteer schedule for planting work is quite full.

“We feel very blessed to have so many folks ready to spring into action this year,” he said.

In regard to any plans for a hay-hauling campaign, Erdmann said, “In the midst of ongoing extreme drought conditions, Farm Rescue is currently evaluating its available resources in hopes of providing relief to those most affected.”

Farm Rescue is a North Dakota-based nonprofit organization that helps farmers and ranchers who have experienced a major illness, injury or natural disaster by providing the necessary equipment and manpower to plant, hay or harvest their crop. Livestock feeding assistance also is available to farm and ranch families in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.
