Regional water district receives loan for construction
BISMARCK – North Prairie Regional Water District has received a $3.8 million loan through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, according to the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality.
The money will help construct 18 miles of transmission line, a new booster station, rehabilitate an existing booster station and construct about 160 miles of water main line serving about 140 new users. The project will provide a more reliable source of quality water.
The Department of Environmental Quality also awarded loans to Cooperstown and Lakota through the DWSRF program in January and February.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency provides part of the DWSRF Program’s funding, which offers below-market interest rate loans to political subdivisions for financing projects authorized under the Safe Drinking Water Act.
