Produced water released at saltwater disposal well
ALEXANDER – Due to a cold weather equipment failure 24,780 gallons of produced water was released at a saltwater disposal well about three miles south of Alexander on Feb. 16.
The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified on Thursday by Bakken Disposal LLC of the release occurring at the Helling Alexander SWD1 saltwater disposal well.
The product was contained on-site within diking. At the time of reporting the 24,780 gallons of produced water had been recovered.
A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup.
