Brad Halton, Minot, sentenced to three years for delivery of cocaine
Brad Jermaine Halton, 44, Minot, was sentenced on Friday to 10 years in prison, with a requirement that he serve three years, followed by three years of supervised probation for Class B felony delivery of cocaine on July 16, 2019. A second Class B felony delivery of cocaine charge against Halton was dismissed under the terms of a plea deal. He will receive credit for one day already served in jail. Judge Todd Cresap also ordered Halton to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $775 in court costs.
According to court documents, Halton had been accused of selling 3.5 grams of cocaine for $250 to a confidential informant working for the Ward County Narcotics Task Force on July 16, 2019, and then selling 7 grams of cocaine for $500 on Aug. 1, 2019. Both deals took place at a Minot bar.
