Sterling Uleberg, Minot, sentenced for menacing

Sterling Thomas Uleberg, 18, Minot, who had originally been charged with Class C felony terrorizing a juvenile while in possession of a gun on March 3, pleaded guilty on Dec. 9 to the reduced charge of Class A misdemeanor menacing.

North Central District Court Judge Gary Lee sentenced him to 360 days in the Ward County Jail and ordered him to pay $125 in court costs.

Uleberg, who was 17 at the time of the offense but was charged as an adult, is facing a slew of other charges in district court in Minot and is in custody at the Ward County Jail.

He pleaded not guilty in October to robbing a juvenile boy of his bike at gunpoint in Roosevelt Park on July 1, of plotting an escape attempt with another juvenile boy from the Ward County Juvenile Detention Center on July 4 and threatening a female correctional officer during the attempt, and of stealing a lawn mower on July 23 and driving it while under the influence of alcohol. Several other teenagers were reportedly on the vehicle at the time.

In those cases, Uleberg is charged in district court in Minot with Class B felony robbery, Class C felony escape by threat of force, Class C felony theft, Class B misdemeanor DUI and two counts of Class B misdemeanor driving with a suspended driver’s license. He was charged last week with Class C felony burglary for allegedly burglarizing the All Seasons Arena on June 29, breaking into the vending machines and stealing food and drinks.
