A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Rick and Terri Philion of Minot pay for medical expenses for their son, Kaden, who has been diagnosed with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, a post-COVID disease in which vital organs can be inflamed.

Kaden, an eighth-grader at Erik Ramstad Middle School, had COVID-19 and recovered in early November but later began experiencing fever, extreme fatigue and body aches. Kaden was treated at the hospital in Minot and then transferred to a hospital in Fargo on Wednesday, according to information provided on the GoFundMe site.
