LaGregory Kollock, Minot, charged with attempted murder, terrorizing

LaGregory Keon Kollock, 32, Minot, is accused of brandishing a firearm and threatening one man on Saturday and then of shooting a second man in the face at 6:33 p.m. on Saturday.

Kollock is scheduled to make an initial appearance in district court in Minot today on charges of Class A felony attempted murder and Class C felony terrorizing with a dangerous weapon.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, there had been conflict between the parties prior to the shooting. Kollock had brandished a gun at one man earlier and told him “he had something for him.” Kollock then went back into his apartment. The man left the premises because he was afraid Kollock would return. According to the affidavit, the man believes Kollock is a “loose cannon” and has been known to shoot firearms around the neighborhood for no reason.

The man later returned home and two other men, one of them the alleged victim of the shooting, arrived. The first man overheard Kollock and the alleged victim of the shooting exchanging insults. Kollock then allegedly pulled out his firearm and fired three shots in the direction of the alleged victim and of the two other men who were following him. The alleged shooting victim fell to the ground. The first man then saw Kollock run into the apartment complex, hand something to a woman and tell her to “get rid of it.”

The alleged victim was taken to Trinity Hospital for treatment of a bullet wound to his left forehead and right cheek. He also sustained bullet fragments to the midline chest, according to the affidavit.
