New Town man charged with robbery in Minot carjacking

A 28-year-old New Town man has been charged with robbery in connection with an alleged carjacking in northwest Minot Friday.

Timothy Snow Jr. is being held in the Ward County Jail, awaiting an initial court appearance, according to the Minot Police Department.

At about 8 p.m. Friday, the Minot Police Department responded to a report of a robbery and carjacking. A woman reported that a male approached her vehicle and demanded she, her adult passenger and juvenile children get out of her vehicle. The suspect then stole the vehicle and left the area prior to police arrival.

Around 8:16 p.m., the Surrey Police Department located the vehicle traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 2 and attempted to make a stop. The vehicle fled, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended five miles east of Towner when the stolen vehicle ran out of gas. Law enforcement from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Surrey Police Department in the apprehension of the Snow.

Snow is charged with robbery, a Class B felony, along with charges from the Surrey Police Department for fleeing, reckless driving and possession of stolen property.

The Minot Police Department also reports Snow is listed as a missing person by the Omaha Tribal Police Department.
