Matthew McClure, Minot, sentenced to 30 days in jail, two years probation, for threatening to kill liquor store clerk

Matthew Allen McClure, 23, Minot, was sentenced on Wednesday to 360 days in jail, all suspended but 30 days, and two years of supervised probation for threatening to kill a clerk at The Landing Bar & Bottle Shop on May 28.

Court records show that Judge Doug Mattson also ordered McClure to pay $325 in court costs and ordered him to stay away from the victim. McClure had earlier pleaded guilty to the Class A misdemeanor menacing charge.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the clerk caught McClure shoplifting $79.91 worth of alcohol and McClure told the clerk he would put a bullet in his head.

McClure is also charged with Class B misdemeanor shoplifting in Minot Municipal Court.
